The Children’s Agenda and partners won continuous Medicaid coverage for children from birth to age 6 in New York state, just the fourth state in the nation to do so. The measure covers 66,177 additional children per year and nearly half of all births in NY state.
The Partnership engaged members by facilitating communities of practice, supporting the exchange of strategies through peer learning workshops, and curating opportunities to exchange national and state-level expertise with partners. In 2024, we hosted, four peer-to-peer sessions and 15 advocacy and capacity-building meetings. Across the Partnership network, member organizations are leading the charge to strengthen their organizational development, advocacy strategies, and policy expertise. Together, they are building collective power to improve the lives of our nation’s 72.8 million children.
“Being part of a national network of child advocates has been incredibly impactful to our work. Through this network, we’ve been able to exchange strategies, learn from peers in other states, and adapt best practices to strengthen our own policy efforts in Nevada. Membership has offered us valuable technical assistance and a consistent pulse on emerging issues across the country.”
Deputy Director,
Children’s Advocacy Alliance (NV)
Senior and executive-level leaders from across the country gathered in Little Rock, Arkansas for the 2024 Partnership for America’s Children Annual Retreat—a milestone convening focused on strategy, equity, and collective impact.
The Advocacy Learning Lab reached over 750 cross-sector advocates in 2024, sharing over 160 national and state-level reports, briefs, and resources to support the holistic well-being of children and families.
“As we continue to address the local, state, and federal challenges facing our children today, it is too easy to get mired down as we engage in the problem-solving that is essential to our work. Being in the Partnership reminds ME that I am a member of a community that is deeply invested in ensuring a better future for our youngest, and that many of the struggles that I and my organization face are struggles that are shared. It is that sharing of struggles that indeed offers part of the solution and ensures that the lessons earned from those challenges are not lost. No one is left alone in the Partnership.”
Director of Data, Operations & Finance,
Westchester Children’s Association (NY)
The Partnership invests in child advocates by serving as a trusted intermediary, driving national and regional funding to child advocacy organizations through targeted grants to support state and local advocacy efforts, as well as organizational sustainability. In 2024 we piloted a new grantmaking model working with a Grants Advisory Committee to guide strategic and equitable funding decisions. Overall, we awarded approximately half a million dollars to child advocacy organizations.
Beyond funding, we also partnered with several national organizations to provide technical assistance to network members on policy issues. Together, these investments build the power and capacity of our network to lead transformative change.
“Being part of the Partnership enhances our work by providing access to valuable resources and expertise and by providing a unified voice to influence policies that protect and promote the well-being of our children. Additionally, we were fortunate and grateful to receive PAC grant funding in 2023 that directly supported our campaign to protect federal benefits belonging to eligible children and youth in foster care.”
Administrative Director,
Children’s Advocacy Institute (CA)
We awarded $542,000 in grant funding to child advocacy organizations nationwide to advance transformative, equity-centered policy change for children and families.
